Introduction

Audra N Gillis, LCSW-C, LICSW, CBT, CHT is a mental health professional affiliated with Grey Matter Counseling & Consulting. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Certified (LCSW-C) in Maryland and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington, DC. I received my Masters in Social Work from Howard University and have been practicing for almost 30 years. I help adults (individual and couples) with learning healthy communication skills, setting boundaries, learning coping skills, learning stress management techniques, & improving self-esteem and self-worth. My patients often struggle with finding their worth due to poor self-esteem or past traumas. I enjoy working with patients and being a part of their growth and change as they find their true purpose and begin to live their best lives. I have experience working with firefighters and first responders. I also have experience with leading groups that assist patients with learning healthy coping skills, building self-esteem/self-worth and learning their purpose. As an interactive, cognitive behavioral therapist my therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help patients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each patient. With compassion and understanding I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
