Avantika Waleryszak, LICSW has been teaching classes in health and wellness for the past 20 years. She received her BA in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience in Brattleboro, Vermont at Union Institute and University, and then received her Masters of Social Work at the University of New England in Portland, ME in 2016. She is a certified professional Kripalu Yoga Teacher, a Reiki Master, certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, certified Integrated Health Practitioner, and a Clinical Social Worker. Avantika has comprehensive experience in working in hospice and behavioral health settings. She utilizes numerous theoretical frameworks including; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, Integrative Healing Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Compassionate Inquiry. She is trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and has conducted numerous studies on the topics of meditation, mindfulness, yoga and the clinical applications of holistic and alternative health models. She has lead many workshops on yoga, meditation, healthy eating, self-care and self-empowerment over the past 20 years. She has taught in a variety of settings; including college campuses, behavioral health settings, yoga studios, corporate offices and her own small healing arts studio. Her psychotherapy sessions, classes and workshops are heart-centered, comprehensive and trauma-informed.
