Teletherapist For more than 25 years, I have worked with children, teens, adults and families in clinical and educational settings. I believe in people. I believe we have the ability to grow, heal and change, but sometimes we get stuck or things get in the way. My job is to help bring clarity and understanding to the challenges you face, in order to help you move forward in a way that feels best to you. You are the expert of you, and in our work together I learn and actively listen to your story. I respect your process and where you are—no judgment. I offer different ways to proceed that are based on my 25 years of experience, understanding of research, and knowledge of the human experience. Therapy can and should be a positive experience. We explore, we challenge, but we also laugh and connect. Prior to private practice, I was the director of counseling at a large, exclusive independent school in an urban area. In my role as director, I conducted emotional and mood assessments and provided short-term therapy for children, teens and families around social emotional development, depression, anxiety and challenging behaviors. I created a mindfulness program for both students and staff and was a collaborative partner with other school counselors, psychologists and physicians. Prior to being in the school setting, I worked in clinical settings where I provided individual and family therapy to children, teens, adults and families. I also supervised the clinical practice of many counselors. Areas of Expertise include: Life transitions such as divorce, new job, relationships, and work and career changes. Coping strategies for ADHD, depression, anxiety, and ordinary and extraordinary stresses. Parental guidance around social emotional development and challenging behaviors. Goal setting and planning related to launching a career or re-entering the workforce. Clinical supervision. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the states of Virginia, North Carolina, Louisiana and Maryland. I am also a telehealth provider in the state of Florida.
