I am a postdoctoral fellow who delivers individualized and culturally informed, evidence-based treatment to adults. In therapy, I seek to meet folks where they are at, whether that is adjusting to counseling for the first time, learning coping skills, engaging in identity development, or processing and exploring past trauma. I utilize a relational and integrative therapeutic approach that borrows from mindfulness-based practices, strength-based practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, self-compassion focused therapy, and attachment theory. I identify as fat, neurodivergent, and nonbinary. Identity and culture are pillars of my therapeutic work as I seek to honor and value each individual’s unique cultural background. As a clinician who holds several privileged identities, I am continuously striving to learn, educate myself, and practice cultural humility. I welcome collaboration with my clients on a variety of mental health struggles. Some of my past experiences have included supporting folks navigating self-confidence, anxiety, work-life balance, depression, neurodivergence, acculturation and conflicting bi-cultural identities, family of origin issues, CPTSD, sexual trauma, and negative body image. I very much enjoy working with folks navigating transitions (e.g., gender, faith, sexual orientation, breakups/dating, new diagnosis, grief), as well as folks hoping to cultivate healthier relationships with others, themselves, and/or their bodies. I have seven years of clinical experience, including licensure as a mental health counselor. I have practiced in a variety of settings, including college counseling centers, a community nonprofit, and a clinic for outpatient substance use. I graduated with my PhD in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University and finished my APA-accredited internship at the University of Utah Counseling Center. I am currently working towards licensure and practicing under the license of my supervisor, Dr. Shawnee Brew (Licensed Clinical Psychologist, PSY31141). I am a foodie, plant parent, animal lover, and social justice advocate who enjoys binging shows, collecting crystals, taking random drives, watching sunsets, and spending time with my partner and loved ones.
