Feeling stuck in your trauma recovery? Perhaps you've been in therapy, have identified habits that help, but never seem to be able to work the plan in a meaningful way. Maybe you've found help and experienced some relief but struggle to find the meaning in it all. Skillful trauma coaching uses practical, body-based approaches to emotional and spiritual wellness, cultivating meaning and finding a sense of trust and safety in your body to shift troublesome underlying issues. ALL trauma is valid and workable. NO ONE is "too traumatized" to heal. No matter what leg of the journey you're on, I would love to serve as a companion holding the lantern, honored to witness your natural healing and growth. Practical Stuff: Talk therapy alone can be harmful to those with a unhealed trauma when used without somatic tools, theory, and engagement. Meaningfully recovering from trauma requires engaging with one's body across all domains of human living. My somatic practice specifically centers on where spirit and body meet in the recovery process, but I do not use touch or direct contact in coaching. While this is a coaching practice, I am a licensed psychotherapist and clinical author with a background that includes faculty positions, guest lecturing, qualitative research in education and quantitative research in cognitive development. I have more than 25 years of experience in trauma recovery. My background in Somatic Experiencing, Authentic Movement, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy serve as a solid foundation for trauma recovery, heavily informed by Hakomi core principles (unity, mind-body holism, organicity, mindfulness, and nonviolence). While I provide cognitive and solution-focused tools (CBT, SFBT), I am oriented to existential and Gestalt approaches influenced by IFS theory.
