We are not meant to figure everything out in life on our own. Sometimes we get lost, or overwhelmed or stuck, and we need some help. I believe that there is nothing “wrong” with any of us. You’re not broken; you don’t need to be fixed. It is part of the human condition to experience pain and suffering – life is challenging and complex and there are times, throughout life, we all lose contact with pieces of ourselves. The human body and the brain’s information processing system naturally moves toward [mental] health. If the system is blocked or imbalanced by the impact of a trauma or psychological distress, the emotional wound festers and can cause intense levels of distress. When we get stuck in a cycle of harmful thoughts and ineffective coping strategies, it prevents us from accessing and experiencing positive events in the here-and-now. I am an EMDR trained therapist. My experience is diverse, and I have extensive training in acceptance and commitment therapy [ACT], internal family systems [IFS], trauma-informed practice, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Becoming more mindful has the power to improve mood, decrease psychological distress, and support a fuller life in the only moment we ever truly live – Now. The work we will do, can be hard and painful, and at the same time it will be a wonderful journey towards discovery and integration of your authentic self – leading to true transformation and healing. When we can accept ourselves, in a compassionate non-judgmental way, there emerges a space from which we can begin to live our life with more clarity and ease, based on our values, regardless of past experiences. I will work collaboratively and creatively with you, to help you find solutions to what’s not working in your life. I welcome the opportunity to be on your side! ------------------------------------------------------ Thank you for taking the time to read my page!
