Better Mind - Better You, LLC is a Veteran Owned Practice that launched in January 2023 with the goal of providing quality mental health counseling services to SC while working to decrease financial and location barriers. We offer online sessions and have various payment options such as offering a discount for signing up and using auto-pay, we also offer a discount to Veterans, Active Duty Military and their immediate family members, and First Responders to include Nurses to help remove barriers regarding costs for quality mental health services. In addition, Samantha has also joined the practice as a clinical counselor. Chad is a Marine Corps Veteran and provides administrative/technical support to the practice and you can find more detailed information about Bethany and Samantha below. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Samantha joined Better Mind - Better You in February 2024 and is currently accepting new clients. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate (LPCA), RN and artist. She has experience and enjoys working with adolescents and adults. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and brings in other interventions to help make the sessions truly individualized as needed. She has additional training in Trauma Focused CBT and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She also brings in a hands-on experience to therapy by utilizing the arts and visualization/meditation to help explore the core of issues and concerns. She has experience bringing in spiritual components as needed based on clients’ beliefs. She is skilled in working with trauma, ADHD, depression, anxiety, stress, motivation, self-worth, communication, confidence, and general behavior concerns. She is now accepting adolescent/teen and adult clients and offers morning, afternoon, and some evening sessions. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Bethany is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in South Carolina, Licensed Professional Counselor/Supervisor (LPC/S) - Candidate, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level I (CCTP-I) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) with 6+ years of professional counseling work experience and over 20 years of mentoring/volunteering/working with various populations in various stages of life. She has experience in supporting clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, motivation, self-worth, communication, career options, confidence, and depression. She is specialized in trauma, including complex trauma. In addition, she has specific therapy training and first-hand experience with the military population. She is trained in various therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and uses various interventions from other therapies such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), person center, and motivational interviewing. It’s important to be versed in several therapies to help ensure each client is getting individualized treatment that is tailored to their specific needs. In addition, she has experience with co-occurring and facilitating various therapy groups. She believes that you are the expert on your story and that you already have skills and abilities you are using that will benefit you on this journey.
