Bloom is proud to be the only provider of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) in the Upstate. PCIT is a highly effective therapy modality designed for children ages 2-10 with disruptive behaviors such as defiance, hyperactivity, tantrums, and even aggressive or destructive behavior. In most sessions, the therapist stands behind a one-way mirror and instructs the parent through an earpiece as they learn strategies to effectively interact and discipline their child in an adjacent playroom. The parent receives live coaching and feedback from the therapist on when to ignore, redirect, praise, or consequence; transforming the parent-child relationship and the child’s behavior. We also provide an array of other evidence-based services for children, teens, adults, and families to treat depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, and other challenging behaviors. Are you ready to Bloom?
