Brad provides therapy services for children (8+), adults, couples and families. In order to meet the specific needs of each client he serves, Brad is flexible in his therapeutic approach and relies heavily on the presenting concerns of the client to guide intervention. While he considers himself eclectic, he draws primarily from a client-centered and systemic approach to therapy. He believes that understanding an individual’s unique past and present experience is critical to identifying and developing goals and guiding necessary change. Additionally, Brad believes that the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the individual is critical for success. Brad has worked with clients in a number of different treatment settings including school, in-home, day treatment and outpatient settings. He works with a variety of presenting issues but specializes in anxiety disorders, trauma history, attachment difficulties, depressive disorders, relationship and marital difficulties, parenting skills and support, and behavioral disorders. In his work with children, Brad strategically integrates play and talk therapy with direct parenting support and skill-building. He frequently meets with parents to discuss their child’s progress, success, challenges, and stressors. While many therapists shy away from challenging adolescent clients, Brad is passionate about working with adolescents who are exhibiting non-compliance, defiance, and oppositional behaviors. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 13+ years experience working with children, adults, couples, and families in various settings including day treatment, private practice, play therapy, and both individual and group therapy. Brad is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
