My approach to providing mental health services is to provide tools that the client/collaborator can utilize to increase resiliency and reduce distress. My philosophy is that therapy should be goal oriented with individually designed strategies to improve overall daily functioning. My expectation is that collaborators be as motivated to participate in creating personal well being as I am motivated to be a catalyst in that process. My background: Bachelor of Science in Psychology - Iowa State University Master of Social Work- University of Iowa Licensed Independent Social Worker state of Iowa # 007499 I have worked with children, adults, couples and families in a variety of treatment settings including residential placement, non profit, group practice and private practice. I encompass an eclectic approach with extensive training in Bowen Family Systems Theory and trauma related treatment modalities. I have training in EMDR and I am able to provide critical incident processing for first responders, in natural disasters, community trauma can be addressed with EMDR outside the bounds of traditional therapy. I am most recently focused on utilizing polyvagal theory and incorporating somatic experiencing into my practice, I have found both to be very effective in the treatment of anxiety and depression, PTSD and autistic spectrum disorders. I look forward to collaborating with you.
