My name is Brent Harrison, LMFT. I specialize in working with people of all ages with childhood and developmental trauma. Another speciality is working with adolescents and young adults who are "launching" and trying to decide what to do with their lives. However, have experience working with wide range of issues, with different populations. My clinical experience has given me a lot of perspective on how early experiences of trauma or severe stress impact our personalities and self-expression. I have in-depth training and experience that helps me understand how stress and trauma affects the whole person, including the body, and how to work with the body-mind in a psychotherapeutic way. My aim in therapy is to help clients get to know themselves at a deeper level, increase healthy self-expression, and to help them live more mindful and meaningful lives. I see therapy as an exploratory process, held within caring space, to try new ways of being that influence change and transformation. Populations I have done a lot of work with: -Countless children, teens, and their families. Some of my most memorable work has been with children who have experienced trauma. -Families and individuals who have experienced disasters (i.e fires, floods, shootings) -Teens & Young adults who are "launching" and trying to find some direction in life. - Adults experiencing stress, depression, and/or anxiety often as a result of major life events or trauma.
