Well, shit! You’re looking for a therapist. The good news: I am one—a therapist. The bad news: people usually seek out therapy when things are not going great, so life might be pretty "meh" right now. I specialize in helping queer and trans adults and professionals who feel held back by trauma or substance use to cultivate sustainable lives and go for their dreams! Sometimes, particularly for LGBTQIA folks, you might feel like you have to put aside some of your identities to get the help you need. You don’t want to be deadnamed, misgendered, or have to avoid using your partner’s pronouns in therapy. As a gender specialist, I offer substance use and trauma work with you in mind. I work to help you determine what relationship you want to have with substances, knowing that substances meet human needs and we cannot ask you be a human without needs. I use EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to take the charge out of past trauma and get you back to living. Finding the right therapist can be daunting.
