Starting therapy, whether it’s for the first time or with someone new, can be difficult; sometimes the process of finding a therapist can be almost as daunting as the therapy itself! However, the right therapist IS out there and this journey will ultimately lead you to the person to give you the help you need! Most importantly, this therapist should have professional experience with your specific needs. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as substance use, personality disorders, and anxiety/depression. I am committed to providing a nurturing and nonjudgmental environment in which you can feel validated, gain insight, and be supported in taking steps to make positive change. In working with children and adults, I have found that creating a safe space for clients to share their story is extremely important to successful therapy outcomes. If we sit down together (in-person or virtually), I will utilize a collaborative and strengths-based approach to help define your concerns, encourage you to express your emotions, and empower you to meet your goals. For children, I utilize play therapy techniques and age-appropriate, evidence-based interventions.
