Introduction

I am a Kansas City based therapist, licensed in both Kansas and Missouri. I provide individual therapy to adults and adolescents 14+. My mission as your therapist is to help you grow into the best version of yourself. Life can be difficult and you may be feeling held down by feelings of depression and anxiety. I use a collaborative approach to identify goals, utilize evidence-based therapies to fit your needs including EMDR, and help you live life without being held down by trauma and feeling stuck in the past. My practice is grounded in a person-centered approach, which means my main goal is meeting your needs. I ensure you feel seen, heard, and understood every session. Research shows the best predictor of effective therapy is the therapeutic relationship itself. A good therapeutic relationship includes having an emotional bond of trust, caring, and respect; agreement on the goals of therapy; and collaboration on the "work" or tasks of the treatment. In therapy, I will walk with you in bettering yourself and overcoming your struggles by developing healthy coping skills and challenging unhelpful beliefs about yourself. I use a non-judgmental, collaborative approach to create a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Partnering together for our therapeutic relationship is a step toward your growth. I will help you get unstuck and reduce your struggling. I provide a free phone consultation to ensure that we are a good fit for each other.
