Hello there! I'm Brittany, and I hope to get to meet you some day! I have a history of working with people in therapeutic settings since 2006. I have worked in people's homes offering family and individual support, helping with transitions to and from residential care for clients, and supporting people within the community. In 2014, I started working as a therapist in several local schools, and in 2016 I moved to the outpatient office setting. In 2018 I opened my own practice in order to be able to focus on my passions and to grow as a professional. My private practice has been focused on the mind/body connection, and how we can use mindfulness for healing. As well as a therapist, I am a trained Yoga Teacher and I love to incorporate the body and breath into helping our emotions move through us. I use evidence based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support people as well as body and breath interventions. It is important to check in with the holistic perspective to get to know the whole human, and to see how all of our parts overlap. My training in yoga has helped me to learn the Ayurvedic lens to view the human through, as well as my formal education to provide the clinical lens. With this perspective, we can help to heal many areas of the self. I have a passion for helping people within the LGBTQIA2s+ community. I also enjoy helping people as they go through difficult life transitions such as school, family changes, career interruptions or moving. I have strengths in working with people with anxiety and highly sensitive systems as well. No matter where you are at, we will work together to find strategies and techniques that work for you as a unique person.
