Introduction

Health conditions and chronic stress impact our mood, relationships, concentration, activities we do for fun, household tasks, sleep, and more. As a specialist in pain and health psychology, I uniquely appreciate the relationship between the body and mind — pain of all kinds greatly affects our joy and our stress levels directly impact our pain intensity. I utilize a strengths-focused approach and partner with you to explore how your health affects your relationship with yourself and your loved ones. If you are struggling with any of these noted life experiences, I am here to provide compassionate, expert support. Together, we can develop a plan that aligns with your needs, working toward improved well-being, more energy to do what you love, and a better quality of life. I am based in Colorado and authorized via PSYPACT to practice telepsychology across participating US states and Washington D.C., and look forward to being there with you as we develop a holistic approach to your health together. - Persistent pain, including fibromyalgia - Chronic illness - Autoimmune conditions - IBS, disorders of the gut brain interaction - Anxiety - Depression - Balancing multiple roles - Chronic stress - The stressors of medical practice and burnout - The challenges of high-level athletic competition, equestrian sport - Poor sleep quality - Women's health, menopause transitions - Autonomic nervous system conditions (e.g., POTS) - Career development in training (e.g., medical residents, psychology trainees) My goal is to work alongside you as we shift you from feeling controlled by your health to you focusing on your life plan for your health. Chronic pain, GI diagnoses, autoimmune disorders, diabetes, insomnia, depression, anxiety, and chronic stress can all draw from an already limited energy reserve, that is energy you deserve to be spending growing your passions and being fully present with your loved ones, of course including your pets! Your health is an investment, and together we can explore how to utilize neuroscience and highly effective skills to help you dedicate your energy in a way that is aligned well with what is most important to you. With many years of experience in a skilled chronic pain management team, I have dedicated my career to helping clients navigate the psychological and physiological aspects of their health and wellbeing. Working closely alongside physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, registered dietitians, and other medical professionals to provide comprehensive, effective care tailored to each individual’s needs allows me to bring you a broad range of tools to best support you on your unique journey. My goal is to help clients regain a sense of control, resilience, fulfillment, and enjoyment. Using a collaborative, holistic approach, I integrate cutting-edge insights from neuroscience with evidence-based psychological interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies. My practice is rooted in the science of how the brain and stress response system interact with pain, illness, and mood—empowering clients with the tools they need to break cycles of suffering and move toward meaningful goals. Beyond my work with patients, I also have a strong interest in supporting physicians and other medical providers. Having worked closely with medical professionals throughout my career, I appreciate the challenges you face in treating chronic pain, balancing high workload volume with burnout, and coping with the stressors of medical training and healthcare systems. I provide physician coaching to enhance communication with patients struggling with chronic pain and comorbid diagnoses to integrate behavioral intervention strategies such as motivational interviewing, mindfulness, or relaxation training into routine care, and to develop strategies for managing your own stress and maintaining well-being in a demanding field. As an equestrian myself, I understand the unique mental and physical demands of equestrian sport and have a specialized interest in sport psychology. In managing competition anxiety, overcoming setbacks, or optimizing performance, I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to help equestrians and athletes refine and develop the mental skills necessary for success. Many of these skills I learned from my own experience as a competitor and I refined these through my doctoral training. By not taking insurance, I can focus on providing personalized, flexible care and offer clients a superbill that can be submitted to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. If you are interested in scheduling a consultation call with me, please send an appointment request. You are making an investment into your wellbeing and I am excited to be a part of your journey!
