My name is Brittany Jenkins (she/her), and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. I enjoy supporting clients to address mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, interpersonal difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem, and trauma. As a queer-identifying therapist, I am also particularly passionate about supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community, including those who are just beginning to explore their gender and/or sexuality. I also enjoy working with folx who are navigating neurodivergence. Opening up to someone new can be scary. I strive to provide an unconditionally safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental relational framework that honors your autonomy and empowers you to pursue a life that aligns with your values. I bring warmth, empathy, authenticity, and humor to the therapeutic space, and I aim to meet clients where they are. I am LGBTQ- and neurodivergent-affirming, and I welcome individuals of all cultures, races, ethnicities, religions, and abilities. I am committed to anti-racism, and I practice through the lens of an anti-oppressive, empowerment-oriented, and culturally humble approach. I am also aligned with Health at Every Size principles. My ultimate goal for our work together is that you feel safe and understood enough to express yourself vulnerably and freely. I work to help my clients build upon their innate resilience and reach a place of emotional understanding and flexibility in their lives. I support my clients in meeting their own emotional experiences with openness, curiosity and compassion. I provide in-person and teletherapy sessions in our Durham office to adolescents (14+) and adults. I am currently in-network with BCBS, Aetna, and Cigna insurance.
