My treatment approach is specifically for new parents and moms to help grow and foster healthier emotional health, navigate through and heal trauma and loss, and to work on understanding and discovering their new identity postpartum. My experiences with mental health include personal - oldest child of divorce, encountered a traumatic birth, and a mom of a two preemies with time in the NICU, in addition to clinical - with a decade working as a mental health therapist and previously managed mental health clinics in the Greater Chicago area and Western New York. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques in sessions from modalities such as Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Feminist Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy. I'm trained in EMDR as well as certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International. My goal is create a safe environment for us to work together to explore where you’re feeling stuck, recognize your strengths, identify what behaviors or thoughts are no longer useful to you, and develop various skills to better manage emotions and stressors.
