I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience in assessing and treating children, adolescents and adults. Prior to starting my private practice I worked in child protective services, I worked as a clinician and an operations manager for the University of Kentucky Center on Trauma and Children, as an addictions therapist at a Suboxone clinic, and as a therapist at another private practice. During my clinical career I have found that my passion is working with adults and I have developed specific areas of clinical interest and experience in trauma, anxiety, burnout for healthcare professionals, adjusting to transitions (adulthood, college, professional career, starting a family, etc.), as well as family and relationship issues. I earned my Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville and my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. I have been trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Functional Family Therapy, and The Gottman Method. I strive to build meaningful, genuine relationships with clients and believe this is the foundation of all therapeutic growth. I operate from a strengths-based, client-centered perspective and work to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space for clients. My goal is to help clients learn coping skills to manage life's challenges, develop healthy thinking patterns, and improve their overall mental health. Many of my clients have stated, "I've never shared that with anyone" during sessions and I attribute their openness to my therapeutic approach in meeting individuals and couples where they are.
