Introduction

My name is Bruno Santos, and I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in trauma therapy. I hold a master's degree in social work from the University of Denver and a master's degree in sexual health from the University of Minnesota. In my practice, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic therapy, all within a feminist framework to empower my clients and help them regain autonomy. As an immigrant, veteran, parent, and gay man, I bring a unique perspective to my work, serving BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Portuguese-speaking immigrants, and couples. I utilize Minority Stress Theory to understand and conceptualize the experiences of minorities, ensuring a comprehensive and empathetic approach to mental health care. I am the owner of New Horizons Therapy Services, a private clinical practice dedicated to fostering new beginnings, serenity, and transformation for my clients. My dedication to mental health and well-being is reflected in my holistic and client-centered approach to therapy.
