Introduction

Hi, I’m Calleen, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Clinical Supervisor in the state of Idaho. I work with both adults and children. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based method often used to help people process trauma and distressing memories. I have spent much of my career working with individuals impacted by sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking, but I enjoy working on whatever goals and struggles people bring to counseling. For children, I offer play therapy, a developmentally appropriate approach that allows kids to express themselves and work through emotional experiences in a way that feels natural and safe. Through play, children can safely explore their internal world, process challenging experiences, and develop healthy coping strategies. Working to increase secure attachment with a caregiver is often an important part of the counseling process for children. My style is collaborative and empowering. I have some tools that have been helpful for some people, however, I believe that you are the expert in your own life. We will take things at whatever pace feels most helpful for you or your child. My goal is to create a safe space for personal growth. If you have any questions about my approach, experience, or whether we might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out. I’m happy to talk with you.
