Greetings and welcome to the journey of health and wellness! I came into the counseling field with the calling and intent to “Encourage, Edify, Equip, and Empower”. I believe Change Can Happen with courage and effective treatment and I am willing and able to be a catalyst cheerleader for every client! Umoja means Unity in the Swahili language and my only professional desire is to walk alongside those seeking Oneness; that is, those looking to close the gap between who they are and who they want to be. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (#17768), I provide quality mental health services to adolescents, families, and adults and am always eager to learn more about integrating traditional and new therapeutic philosophies into counseling as it meets my clients’ needs in progressing towards hope and healing. I have 4 years of clinical DBT experience to support those clients who struggle with applying mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness skills to their lives. I look forward to working with diverse clients who have been marginalized by society and those seeking symptom-relief from trauma-based wounds. Thank you for your time in reading a bit about me and my practice; I look forward to our journey together towards well-being and wholeness. Peace to you and UMOJA!
