Hello! My name is Candice King. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with several years of experience providing counseling to diverse populations. I achieved my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University Channel Islands and a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Depth Psychology, from Pacifica Graduate Institute. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, transitional-age youth (18-26), as well as adults, couples, and families. I am committed to helping clients reduce unhealthy responses and behaviors, increase self-awareness, improve social skills and better their overall quality of life. I have worked with clients struggling with Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Issues, OCD, OCD-related disorders, Body-focused Repetitive Behaviors (such as Trichotillomania), ADHD, self-harming behaviors, specific phobias (such as Emetophobia), ASD, co-occurring mental health disorders, and Phase of Life challenges. With a client-centered, psychodynamic approach, I am dedicated to focusing on the value of treatment tailored for the individual clients’ unique needs. I utilize evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a Depth perspective. I offer an open-minded, compassionate, calm presence in therapy and strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship. I believe in working collaboratively with clients to achieve their therapeutic goals through open communication, engagement, and providing a safe space for clients to share and explore.
