I have been working as a counselor in various capacities in mental health and wellness since 2000. I completed a MA in Counseling Psychology at the University of Denver in 2002. After moving back to the Bay Area and working in an Adolescent Day Treatment program for two years, I began seeing clients in a private practice setting at a community counseling center in San Francisco in 2005. I started my own business in 2009 after becoming licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) in California. I thoroughly enjoy this work and find it both challenging and deeply rewarding. Compassion and intuition characterize my style and I consider truth, the present moment, and the body as rich sources of information in therapeutic work. These are some of the types of issues my clients come to me for help with: - Anxiety and/or depression - Relationship and family issues - Life transitions - Grief and loss - Personal growth and spirituality An essential component of my work is the recognition of the interrelationship between mind, body, and spirit. In the context of a supportive and collaborative relationship, I help you examine your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Results of this process may include increased: - Awareness - Understanding - Peacefulness and contentment - Confidence - Resourcefulness - Vitality
