I work with you to define and achieve the life YOU want, whether that is managing symptoms, solving a problem, or simply living a more fulfilling life and being your authentic self. I believe a good therapist, like a good friend, doesn’t just tell you what you want to hear. I challenge my clients to see new perspectives, notice their blind spots, and find new insights. I would describe my style as cognitive-based and intellectual, with no “BS” and a healthy dose of humor! My theoretical orientation draws from humanism and existentialism and I draw techniques primarily from MI, CBT, and DBT. However, research shows that a good match between therapist and client is far more indicative of success in therapy than the theory or techniques used. So come in for a no-pressure first appointment to see if our personalities are a good fit! I see teens, adults, individuals, and couples. I work with a variety of topics including depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions/adjustments, interpersonal/family concerns, and addictions. I especially enjoy working with grief and caregiver stress as well as those coming to therapy because they want to “thrive rather than survive.” In particular, I believe I excel at working with men for whom therapy is a new or uncomfortable experience. I received my BA from the University of Pennsylvania magna cum laude and my MS in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have experience working in inpatient men’s SUD treatment and inpatient crisis stabilization. I am also the proud daughter of an Argentinean immigrant and speak fluent (but non-native) Spanish.
