Introduction

Hi! I’m Cassandre Miller, and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am accepting individual adults and couples clients located in GA or NY. For couples therapy, I primarily use Emotion Focused Therapy and I am on the path to EFT certification. EFT views couples as good people with very good defenses that have gotten stuck in a pattern of shame and blame. Disconnection and conflict in our relationships can be one of the most painful things we experience, while belonging makes us feel alive and worthy. Whether it's infidelity, intimacy issues, new relationship stages, communication, resentment, or trust issues, we will work together to repair this bond between you and experience each other differently. To quote Esther Perel: "A relationship is like a perennial plant; both become more resilient as they learn how to balance the contradictions required for growth. Under the earth, the plant needs sturdy roots. Above, it needs to be able to dance on the wind. It needs sunshine and rain. It needs attention and space. It changes with the seasons, dying back and growing up over and over again. And when it outgrows its pot or plot, it needs to move." I have an anti-oppression lens and trauma-informed approach. This means that I will not see your struggles in isolation of the larger systems affecting us. We can work on individual resilience AND community liberation. As bell hooks said, “I will not have my life narrowed down. I will not bow down to somebody else's whim or to someone else's ignorance.” I have plentiful experience writing letters for gender affirmation needs.
