Introduction

The relationship we have with ourselves is the greatest we will experience throughout our lifetime. I believe therapy is an investment in that relationship. The therapeutic process provides an opportunity to safely venture into self-exploration with curiosity, compassion, and understanding. As we begin to unveil the old patterns we have unconsciously been stuck in, we notice not only an increase in our own self-awareness, but we also feel empowered to make shifts in how we relate to others and the ways in which we engage in life more broadly. I work to create a space that encourages clients to bring all aspects of themselves because I know that true understanding and transformation begins when we give ourselves permission to fully feel and express ourselves. Background I received my master’s degree in social work from the University of Houston. While working towards my master’s degree, I interned at Brene Brown’s organization, The Daring Way which is where I developed an interest in the impacts of shame on our mental health and the tools we can call upon to develop shame resilience. Following the successful completion of my master’s degree, I was selected to join the competitive post-graduate fellowship at the Menninger Clinic and was subsequently hired on as a clinician at Menninger’s outpatient program, M360. I primarily rely on a psychodynamic approach to therapy which harnesses the power of insight to help individuals make changes. However, I also believe that therapy is person-centered so I work to utilize an approach that best fits the client’s needs. With several years of training and experience at the Menninger clinic, I have worked with clients who have faced a variety of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, shame, relational difficulties, attachment trauma, life transitions, personality disorders, and grief.
