Introduction

Therapy is most effective when the clinician presents themselves as the client does-a person with a unique past and personality. When you take out a therapist’s humanity and lived experience, there is no true therapeutic connection and trust from the client. I strive to be both a person and therapist through my conversational, authentic, and collaborative style. I am knowledgeable in serving those with symptoms of trauma, anxiety, BPD, Bipolar Disorder, somatic complaints, dissociation, and attachment issues. I also have extensive experience working with Veterans/Service Members of the Illinois Army National Guard for 4 years. As a Certified Trauma Professional with a certificate in Integrative Somatic Psychology, I focus on trauma as well as BPD and anxiety. Through my training in EMDR, Polyvagal Theory, IFS/Parts Work, and Somatic Psychology, I assist clients in addressing the root of the problem, not just present day symptoms. I am also knowledgeable in DBT and CBT. As one of my favorite quotes from the song "Optimistic" by Radiohead says, "Try the best you can, the best you can is good enough." Although that can sound cliche and oftentimes unbelievable, I am here to remind you that there is no such thing as normal, that the your best is just that-yours! I'd love to chat about how I can help improve upon your best self!
