I'm Dr. Catherine Seldin, a psychotherapist in private practice. You can call me Cate. I'm so glad you're here! *Please note: My practice is currently full, so I am unable to accept new clients at this time. If you need some assistance finding an available therapist, feel free to send me an email. I would be happy to help. With warmth, empathy, and expertise, I work with clients in emerging adulthood through late adulthood who are motivated to heal and to grow. At your own unique pace we identify key struggles, strengths, and relational patterns throughout your life. We explore your deepest concerns and wishes, honoring all parts of you and your story. Working to navigate change with growing trust and insight, we incorporate mindfulness techniques and doses of humor along the way. We turn to the wisdom of both nature and neuroscience to better understand and engage with our bodies and emotions. While therapy can involve some discomfort at times, it can also be deeply reassuring and uplifting. Ultimately, our work strengthens your connection to your core intuitive voice. This is the part of you that holds unwavering wisdom, even when you feel lost. It is your companion, your compass. My therapeutic approach is holistic and eclectic, drawing from a range of empirically-based treatment modalities and wellness perspectives including psychodynamic, relational, cognitive behavioral, internal family systems, and mind-body work. I allow my clients' individual, evolving needs to inform the path of therapy over time. I specialize in working with women around mood, self-esteem, the body experience, relationships, and life transitions. My practice utilizes a secure telehealth platform, making psychotherapy as accessible as possible. I have practiced in the mental health field for over 15 years. I earned my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from William James College, a Master's Degree in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University, and an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Women's Studies from Brandeis University. Prior to working in private practice, I gained clinical experience working in a range of mental health settings, including the following college counseling centers and community clinics: Massachusetts College of Art and Design Counseling & Wellness Center, Boston MA Babson College Counseling and Psychological Services, Wellesley MA Curry College Counseling Center, Milton MA Two Brattle Center, Cambridge MA Boston Institute for Psychotherapy, Brookline MA Human Relations Service, Wellesley MA I've also held psychology research positions through the University of Oxford Department of Health Sciences in Oxford, England as well as the Wellesley Centers for Women at Wellesley College. Co-creating therapy experiences with my clients is a beautiful process, one that feels mutually engaging, natural, and rewarding. If you're interested in working together, please send me an email. It would be my pleasure to talk with you. Visit my holistic self-care website at: https://ckseldin.wixsite.com/cupofteawithme
