I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been working in the field for over 10 years. I have worked at many different locations while working to be licensed, including a crisis youth shelter, at schools, and in a private practice setting. While licensed, I have worked at both a school district and a private practice. I have been licensed for over 5 years and specialize in working with children, families and young adults. My approach is attachment-based and psychodynamic therapy. With children, I like to work closely with parents as usually parents have identified the need for services. In this model, I work through play with children as young as 5 with a conjoint service with parents to work on parenting techniques to teach skills to use at home. I have worked with struggles related to behavioral issues at school, trauma, divorce, anxiety and depression. I also work with emerging and young adults, processing themes related to social interactions, fostering independence, adjusting to academic pressure and adjustment to college, and creating a sense of confidence and belonging. Prepping for and moving to college is a huge change that can be hard to navigate, only complicated by changes in schooling due to the pandemic and feeling isolated due to distance/online classroom teaching. I offer ongoing sessions for MFT associates for personal growth and consultation.
