Introduction

Individual Psychotherapy Individual psychotherapy can be profoundly transformative and foster personal growth. Establishing an emotional connection with the client is essential for initiating a healthy therapeutic relationship. Dr. Kelland prioritizes building trust and nurturing bonds that offer support and facilitate growth. While safety and stabilization are critical, the relationship between the psychologist and the client serves as a foundation for addressing the issues that lead them to seek treatment. Dr. Kelland emphasizes attachment, connection, and love to examine the client's daily behaviors that hinder their ability to become their best selves. Even within a small community, maintaining privacy and confidentiality remains central to Dr. Kelland's therapeutic approach. Dr. Kelland applies appropriate theories, models, and interventions to assist clients in their daily growth, progress, and achievement of treatment goals. Primarily, he employs talk therapy in most of his individual and couples sessions. Yet, he also incorporates music, art, drawing, breathing exercises, video games, technology, and mindfulness techniques to facilitate healing. Dr. Kelland strongly advocates for self-care while motivating clients to become more self-assertive, enhance communication skills, and foster self-awareness. The aim is to empower clients to "level up" in their health and well-being. Clients find that Dr. Kelland is a growth-promoting cheerleader who encourages self-confidence and self-esteem, highlights their strengths, and emphasizes accountability to accomplish their treatment goals. Psychological Assessment and Evaluation Dr. Kelland utilizes specialized training in Stephen Finn's theories of Therapeutic Assessment to enhance and complete psychological evaluations. Dr. Kelland provides testing and assessments for ADHD & executive functioning, personality, cognitive abilities, academic abilities, relationship issues, diagnostic and treatment planning purposes, and neuropsychological screening. Psychological assessment and testing are two of Dr. Kelland's specialties.
