I have been practicing clinical social work for about 15 years and have worked with people from all different backgrounds and all walks of life; some who are ready to make a change and some who are just trying to get through the day. I have worked with all ages and I have the most experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety which can often lead to depression or can be a result of past trauma. People often come to me when they are struggling in their relationships, their ability to sleep or their ability to complete tasks at school or work. My clients often come to me because they want to stop worrying, overcome their fears or they want to be confident in themselves again. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions, I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy interventions and I am also trained in Brainspotting which is often used to treat individuals who have experienced past trauma or negative experiences which are causing anxiety/fear and depression. When I am working with young children, I also typically work concurrently with parents in supporting their child through their struggles. When choosing a therapist, I understand how it is important for some people to know a little bit more personal information. Since I work with a lot of children, families, parents, or young adults who want to start a family, I find it important to tell people that I have been married for over 10 years, I have two children and in my role as a therapist, I never teach a new skill or parenting strategy I have not first tried myself.
