I have 11 years of counseling experience as a school counselor working with adolescents and families to provide individual and group counseling services. Utilizing brief solution-focused, person centered, cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapeutic approaches, I have provided counseling services to youth, youth in foster care and families. I worked extensively with youth and families from a variety of different backgrounds on issues including social skills, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, transition difficulty, depression, self harm behaviors, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, and disruptive mood dysregulation disorder. At this time I offer thorough clinical assessments as well as brief solution-focused individual counseling to children and adolescents ages 6-18 years old. BSFT is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, that helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. I will draw from evidence based practices and techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Person-Centered, Dialectical Behavior Therapy as well as Motivational Interviewing depending on client needs and progress. Children and adolescents may need support at home so, parent(s)/guardian(s) may be invited into some sessions. If you're interested in setting up an appointment, just send me a message! I am looking forward to supporting the mental health needs of children and adolescents in the community.
