I am African American and Dutch. I've lived all over the U.S., so I say "y'all", I take *the* 5 when I drive out of town, and I used to ride a bike everywhere even in the snow! My culture is my own and I'm honored to share in others' as well. I earned a B.A. in Psychology and Brain & Cognitive Science, minor in Music from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY. Later I attended Simpson University and earned a M.A. in Counseling Psychology. My early professional experience is with adolescents, teens, parents/couples, and families. I started my work as a behaviorist, providing Therapeutic Behavior Services (TBS) in the school and home setting. As a therapist I have been fortunate to gain experience in a wide range of practice settings including youth residential treatment, juvenile hall, county mental health/specialty mental health outpatient, youth crisis, emergency room, probation, and school-based. I can speak "teen" fluently. My practice has naturally expanded to serving corporate settings as well as adults seeking to grow by releasing limiting negative core beliefs. This includes executive coaching in effective leadership and communication, corporate motivational interviewing training, and social and emotional awareness training. I have shaman training in guided meditation and transcendental meditation. And I now offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy combined with EMDR integration work to offer a more intensive treatment for drug resistent depression and complex trauma. I take a client-centered approach allowing you to take the lead on the issues you want to work on. I am always open to feedback and hope to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and challenged to meet your personal goals.
