I look forward to meeting you! My goal is to build a warm and trusting therapeutic relationship with you, and together we can build a healthier, happier life for you and your relationships. If you are looking for a therapist who isn't going to "take sides" and has a fair and balanced approach backed by education and training, I'm your therapist. I believe choosing a therapist is an important decision and finding someone who feels like they 'get you' matters so you can get the most out of your time with them. I have over 10 years experience working with families, kids, individuals, and couples in a variety of settings, including human services, residential programs, education, non-profits, and corrections. In my current work, I use a client-centered, holistic approach with individuals and couples; everything starts with the therapeutic relationship we build, and I strongly believe in authenticity, warmth, unconditional positive regard, acceptance, and above all else, empathy. I was born and raised in Omaha, a first-generation Nebraskan from a family of blue-collar Chicagoans (Go Bears)! Raised in a blended household after my parents divorced and my mother remarried, I believe that I truly understand the valuable and challenging experience of one family ending and the gratifying beginning of another. I have also participated in couples and individual counseling during my 20-year marriage, learning a great deal about myself and our relationship. In our case, we chose to amicably separate and divorce on good terms and remain good friends to this day, as parents of two adult children, ages 24 & 26. I continued to attend individual counseling, finding it a rewarding and ultimately healing experience. After my divorce and seeking a new professional and personal adventure, I moved to Denver in September of 2018, but will always hold the Midwestern values of hard work, compassion, and service to others close to my heart.
