Hello, My name is Christena Greenlee. I am a clinical social worker and have been working in private practice for 15 years. I specialize in working with adult women who have struggled with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues and trauma. My focus is to build mindfulness and body-based practices and coping skills for difficult periods in life and for treating life-long trauma. Modalities I use are cognitive-behavioral therapy, Lifespan Integration therapy (LI), EFT/tapping, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). The Enneagram is a tool I love to use to help develop a picture of and language for understanding each client. And my clients have enjoyed exploring the Enneagram to help them understand their way of functioning in relationships and in the world. My first goal in therapy is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship; without that, little real and helpful work can be done. Then we work together to address, and build skills for, the areas of life where struggles, overwhelm and non-functioning take over. Often with trauma, people have symptoms such as difficulty staying present with inner experiences; they struggle to stay connected to the present moment; they are constantly pulled back in time in their minds; they struggle to manage emotions; they have negative self-perceptions, negative body perceptions and constant negative inner chatter. They often carry feelings of shame, hopelessness and worthlessness. I work with my clients to learn new ways to manage these struggles and to learn to better love themselves through and in spite of the struggles. If my focus sounds like a good fit for you, please feel free to contact me to set up a time to talk further. I look forward to meeting you!
