Christie received her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Akron and her master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Ashland University Theological Seminary. Married for 29 years and a mom to four daughters, a few bonus kids and four ‘fur’ babies, Christie spent many years raising kids before returning to professional work. A resident of the west side of Akron, she enjoys spending time with family, which can include anything from painting fingernails to hiking the Metroparks. She also has a passion for home décor and reclaiming and reusing furniture and fixtures. She is passionate about marriage and family and loves working with clients to help them build healthy, thriving, connected relationships. "I believe in marriage. I believe we have a Creator who sees a bigger picture and purpose for marriage than our momentary comfort and pleasure. I believe marriage is a commitment worth fighting for and investing in. Marriage is something most of us long for and work hard to get. Making it even more confusing is when one or both partners want out of the marriage because it has become painful and difficult. I consider it an honor to work with couples through the complex dynamics of marriage in hopes of healing hurts, restoring faith and trust, learning healthy communication and rediscovering intimacy. I also enjoy working with dating couples to prepare for engagement, and couples that are engaged to prepare for marriage.
