If you need mental health support, you shouldn't have to worry about your therapist judging you or making you feel uncomfortable. You are the expert in who you are, and I do my best to learn from my clients and provide a safe space to address whatever you're going through. I've worked in mental health counseling since 2005, in a variety of settings (home based, school based, foster care, outpatient) providing treatment to individuals, couples and families. I frequently use cognitive behavioral, insight oriented, and emotion focused interventions within session. I'm trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is frequently used to address trauma but also find helpful in decreasing distress around any negative thought and replacing it with a more adaptive/healthy thought. I appreciate that I can't be a good fit for everyone, so I welcome consultation calls to explore if my approach to counseling seems to line up with what you're looking for within counseling. Some things of note that impact whether I am a good fit for clients: **I only have daytime availability, with the earliest appointment time being 8am and the latest being 3:30-4:30. Afternoon appointments are very popular and not always readily available for new clients. I do not have evening or weekend appointments. **While I very much enjoy working with adolescents, I only work with clients who are at least 14 years old, as that is the age (determined by Pennsylvania Mental Health Law) that teens can consent to their own treatment.
