I earned my bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Services and master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have worked in the field for over 25 years. I have a wide range of experiences with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings, including residential, psychiatric rehabilitation center, acute day treatment center, private and public schools, and outpatient therapy in a community mental health center and private practice setting. My areas of expertise include trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), brain based attachment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), social skills training, family therapy, parenting skills, play therapy, mindfulness training, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and the Polyvagal Theory. My practice focuses on providing individual and family therapy services for children ages 3-12, adolescents 13-21, adults, and couples with a variety of diagnoses. I use a wide range of therapy techniques to help clients decrease stress and symptoms of anxiety and depression; challenge negative thought processes; and build healthy stable relationships. My approach to clients is direct, nurturing, supportive, and humorous.
