Hi! I’m Christine. I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor providing therapy services to residents of California. Who I work with: I do great work with clients who are motivated and curious. I have experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, and also have experience working with survivors of religious trauma. As a recording musician and song writer, I am a good fit for artists who are struggling with blockage or insecurities about their creativity - I believe that creative people being able to express themselves in an unencumbered way benefits the world! How we work together: Finding a therapist who is a good fit for you is extremely important in you being able to do the work you need to do in therapy. I take an integrative approach, drawing on psychodynamic, person-centered, and trauma-informed orientations. We will pay close attention to feelings, thoughts, and narratives that surface. We will work together to help you make sense of your life story and how it has shaped you, as well as evaluate what is not working in your life currently. We will help you become aware of your assumptions, expectations, and defenses that might be contributing to what is not working. Though alleviating pain and discomfort in the short-term is important, I believe that lasting change comes from this deeper work of self awareness and personal insight, which is a pathway to living a life that is authentically and vibrantly yours. Together we can begin to reshape how you understand yourself and the world, and help you find your voice and your way forward. I believe that ultimately you are the expert on you. My role is to help you develop inner awareness, heal your relationship with yourself, and ultimately help you develop your own internal therapeutic voice. It takes courage to seek help and to take the first steps toward change in pursuit of a happier and more fulfilling life. If you are ready to take that step, I’d be honored to support you through this part of your journey! About me: When not doing therapy, I enjoy writing and recording music, cooking, anything to do with plants and gardening, and immersing myself in countries and cultures across the globe. As a native San Diegan, I appreciate our year round temperate weather and am often walking at the beach hoping to spot a dolphin or two. After a number of years in the Midwest for schooling, I convinced my wife to move back to San Diego with me, where we now call Encinitas home.
