Introduction

All healing is relational, whether we are seeking to heal our relationship with ourselves and our internal worlds, or whether we are wanting to heal connections with those whom we love. I am a relationally-based therapist, who incorporates somatic work, mindfulness-based practices, and parts work to uncover our hidden internal worlds and the aspects held within so they may be understood, cared for and healed. If you are seeking individual counseling, I believe that much of our mental and emotional struggles arise out of an internal struggle between different aspects of self. By uncovering the relationships between these different parts and working to understand them through compassion and curiosity, we are able to uncover the vulnerable truths they hold, how they came to be and what they need to heal. In working with couples, relational healing extends beyond our internal world and is applied directly to our relationships with others in our lives. I draw on similar somatic and mindfulness based practices as well as draw from my background in teaching partner dance. Partner dance offers a unique lens to explore relationships for it can illuminate our relationship to ourselves, to our partner and to the roles that we take on or wish to take on in the relationship in a present-centered and somatically focused way. I offer therapeutic partner dance sessions as well as traditional couples therapy. If you are interested in a more traditional couples therapy approach, uncovering your relational dynamic will be routed in a seated practice instead of a movement based one. Relationships are our entire lives, and so much of our contentedness rests on the health of our relationships both internally and externally. Whether you are struggling with thoughts and emotions that you are having a hard time understanding, navigating a challenging transition in life, or wanting to deepen and explore your relationship dynamic with another, I would love to work with you.
