I have been a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2004. I have extensive experience working with relationship issues, challenging life transitions (international move, career change, bereavement, loss of relationship, etc.) and highly creative individuals. Many of my clients work in the fields of film, theater, opera, music, literature and visual arts. In addition, I worked with English speaking clients in Frankfurt, Germany for 6 years. In Frankfurt, my clients came from every continent except Antarctica. I gained a deep understanding of the challenges faced by expats and immigrants, as well as broad experience working with cross-cultural couples. I seek to provide clients a safe, non-judgmental place to express and explore their challenges, and help them to rediscover their talents, strengths and resources. My goal is to create collaborative partnerships that enable clients to move away from self-blame and judgment and help them to find solutions that are consistent with their values and beliefs. I enjoy working with clients who are committed to personal growth and a deeper understanding of themselves and their patterns. I use EMDR to help clients reprocess trauma and my work is guided by my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Mindful Awareness Practices. I also support clients with ME/CFS and Long Covid and their caregivers. EMDR Certified Therapist (EMDRIA) AAMFT Approved Supervisor See my website for more information: www.claycrosbymft.com
