Introduction

Hello, I'm Colleen. I am a therapist who prioritizes compassion and curiosity in my work to help others heal. I base my treatment methods off of the foundation that we are all imperfect humans who want to feel seen and heard. I enjoy working with people in a relational context to strengthen romantic and familial bonds. I primarily use a model called Emotionally Focused Therapy which identifies negative patterns in relationships and supports clients in softening and turning toward their loved ones. For my work with individuals, the therapy process still works off of the understanding that humans desire emotional safety and security. Healing can begin when we take note of how we've learned to cope with vulnerable emotions. My belief is that when we really explore why people cope and behave the way that they do, it almost always makes sense. Self-compassion is a key component to making positive changes. I am also a mother and wife in southern Rhode Island, embracing the beauty and challenges of the human experience.
