Contessa Brown has been serving as a clinician in the Rhode Island and Massachusetts community for three years. Her goal is to empower and strengthen her clients as they navigate life’s transitions. Preparing them for the chapters that are ahead in addition to finding closure from the previous chapters of life. Her goal has always remained to help break the stigmatism of mental health & wellness; especially within the BIPOC community. Delivering therapeutic interventions in a way that is culturally competent & compassionate. Her current evidence based therapeutic approach includes but is not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Strengths Based Therapy (SBT), Mindfulness, Expressive Arts, through a lens of cultural competence & compassion. Contessa Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences in Psychology and Master of Science in Leadership from Roger Williams University. Additionally, she holds a Master of Arts in Holistic Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a candidate for Continued Advance Graduate Studies in Expressive Arts from Salve Regina University. NOTE: A limited license allows an individual to engage in the practice of counseling under the supervision of a licensed professional counselor.
