I work with high-funtioning adults of all ages (18+); people of all genders and LGBTQIA+ individuals; and clients of all cultures, racial backgrounds, and ethnicities. I hold an inclusive and anti-oppressive approach and invite clients’ intersecting identities to be seen, acknowledged, respected, and celebrated in our work together. My approach is individualized, collaborative, and creative with compassion, empathy, curiosity, and acceptance as core values. I hold a strength-based and holistic view of each client and believe that building trust and rapport within the therapeutic alliance is deeply important for growth and transformation. In sessions, I invite clients to be curious about themselves and others, to be open to the therapeutic value of the imagination, and to connect to the wisdom of the body. If you choose to incorporate expressive arts therapy, activities in our sessions can be as simple as exploring a feeling in a metaphorical or symbolic way, engaging in bilateral scribbling for nervous system regulation, listening to music to impact mood states, or using postures or gestures to explore emotions. As you will learn on my expressive arts therapy page, no special creative skills or experience with the arts is required to engage in and benefit from arts-based therapy. For those who wish to spend a longer period in session with creative processing, I offer individualized therapeutic art projects.
