My specialty has been working with adolescents and their families for close to 20 years regarding various issues that come up for both the teenager themselves and within the family system. My experience spans inpatient, residential, and community-based programs, as well as private practice. I believe that treating clients in these vastly different environments has enriched the quality of my work and my perspective on life. I use an integrative approach to therapy that is based on your unique strengths, individual needs, and circumstances. My process is person-centered, reality-oriented and collaborative. Sessions tend to be focused on solutions, not problems. While at times it is necessary and useful to delve into the past, the emphasis tends to be more on making positive change in the present and future. My therapeutic style is warm, interactive, and empathetic. You can expect to be treated with care and respect. You can count on authenticity, an objective and non-judgmental stance, and some gentle challenges when you find yourself “stuck”. There will also be a little kind humor thrown in when appropriate.
