Introduction

My approach to therapy is eclectic and tailored to fit each person I encounter. In general, I favor a relational approach that draws from psychodynamic perspectives. What this really means is that I understand how our earliest experiences and relationships can shape us, and I am deeply interested in what your early experiences and relationships taught you about the world. Using this approach, I will ask you questions designed to shed light on your history and provide insight about the root causes of some of the difficulties you face today. I will also draw from 3rd wave CBT modalities, such as DBT and ACT, in order to assist you in unlearning those early lessons when needed. In this way, you can feel more free to reshape living strategies which helped you to survive your past, but are no longer serving you. Together, we will look to the past for understanding, and then begin to mold the present and future according to your needs and desires. I am a proudly queer person, and have chosen to bring this identity into the forefront of my work because I believe that a queer perspective is invaluable in providing transformative therapy to any person seeking insight and change. My clients are adults with diverse identities and backgrounds who tend to have one thing in common: they understand that the established way of doing things is not working for them, and they are ready to change the way they relate to the world. I offer individual therapy sessions which are tailored to fit your needs and strengths so that we can explore your history, address your concerns, attend to your goals, and develop strategies for living well. I also offer dyadic sessions, which are ideal for including a loved one (e.g. partner, friend, family member) to address communication problems, manage conflict, and build connection. At this time, I offer only virtual therapy sessions that you can take from any private space. Reach out now to schedule your free consultation!
