My healing journey began with 9/11. I was freshly out of college, working in Tribeca, and completely enthralled with the opportunities ahead of me. The trauma of that day changed my perception of the world. In later years, I would come to understand I had undiagnosed PTSD that morphed into a generalized anxiety disorder. The gift of that day is that it sent me searching for answers, and I began to find them through the study of yoga. Eventually, I moved back to my native state of North Carolina and continued building my career in banking. Over time, work began to feel stale, and I started questioning everything, including our culture's definition of success and achievement. I felt a deeper calling to help others and to share what I'd learned through my own healing. This dark night of the soul gave me firsthand experience in how difficult it is to take an honest assessment of what’s not working and find the courage to make changes. In 2017, I got my master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University. My work as a therapist is informed by the sum total of my experiences - including 23 years in various capacities within capital markets banking as well as two decades as a yoga practitioner and student of various spiritual traditions.
