Introduction
Hello, My name is David Chism. I got my start as a counselor working for nonprofits and doing agency work specializing in working with clients that have trauma, often complex trauma. I am EMDR trained and am working towards EMDR certification, specializing in trauma work to treat things like depression, anxiety, PTSD, anger issues, relationship problems, addictions, etc. I also incorporate somatic techniques, IFS, and psychodynamic theory into my approach with EMDR. By using EMDR and incorporating other approaches, I am able to help address a wide range of issues clients may be having that are rooted in trauma, whether that is Big T trauma or little t trauma. I strongly believe in establishing a relationship of trust with every client and working towards the clients goals, whatever they may be. I also believe in meeting clients where they are at, so if you are still on the fence about doing therapy or unsure if change is really possible, I would still love to talk with you and go from there.
