My name is Deirdre and I have been working in the mental health field since 2008. I spent nine years working at McLean Hospital in their 3East Residential DBT program. Afterwards I transitioned to working in the Child Welfare system as an Adoption Worker for the state. I am now currently I work as an outpatient provider at the Baker Center Waltham. I specialize in DBT therapy for teenagers, young adults, and adults who struggle with symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder such as suicidal thinking, self-harm, and difficulty with interpersonal relationships. I am trained in a number of evidence based practices to treat anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder. I am trained in Behavioral Parent Training for children who struggle with oppositional defiant disorder. My main goal in working with clients is to help them feel in control of their emotions, help them understand how to move out of their emotions and help them enjoy their life now. If you feel that your emotions are in control of your life, I can help. In learning new skills and interventions you will start to feel present in your life and participate in your life more fully.
